Better Funding Practices | Funding the Conditions for Collaboration and Collective Action

Collaboration and collective action take more than bringing organisations together. They require time, resources, trust, meaningful participation and space for relationships to develop. This Better Funding Practice explores how funders can resource the conditions that make meaningful collaboration possible, without forcing it or predetermining where it should lead. Drawing on practical recommendations and the experience of GoPhilanthropic Foundation and RED MAIIS, it considers how funders can support connection, peer learning, collective care and participant ownership, while recognising the real costs and labour involved.
